Riverbank Park (Newman Mills Park)

The Swimming Hole at Riverbank Park, also known as Newman Mills Park

The Stamford Hole is a small, dam-created waterfall on the Mianus River, in the north part of town. Riverbank us the site of old Indian hunting grounds with a waterfall created by the foundation of a Colonial grist mill owned by Nathaniel Newman in 1726 until it burned down in 1969. The small and popular park is the perfect place to swim on a hot summer day, or to laze in the shade under the trees.
